Terms of Service
Last updated August 29, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of FlatRate.wiki, including its website, account system, Community, VIN tools, and related services. By using FlatRate.wiki, you agree to these Terms.
Use of the service
You may use FlatRate.wiki only if you are legally able to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for activity associated with your account and for keeping access to your authentication methods secure.
Community contributions
FlatRate.wiki is built around technician-contributed knowledge. You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you give FlatRate.wiki a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, moderate, and promote the service.
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to submit your content. Do not post confidential employer, customer, personal, proprietary, copyrighted, or other protected information unless you are authorized to do so.
Acceptable use
You may not use FlatRate.wiki to:
- break the law or encourage unlawful conduct;
- harass, threaten, impersonate, or exploit another person;
- publish sensitive personal information without authorization;
- interfere with, probe, overload, or bypass the security of the service;
- submit malware, deceptive content, spam, or automated abuse; or
- misrepresent repair data, vehicle data, or other evidence in a way intended to deceive users.
Automotive information is not a substitute for official procedures
FlatRate.wiki provides community information, vehicle data, and tools for informational purposes. Community reports can be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or specific to a particular vehicle or working condition. Always use appropriate professional judgment and consult applicable manufacturer service information, safety procedures, laws, recalls, warranty policies, and other authoritative sources before performing work.
VIN and vehicle tools
VIN recognition and vehicle decoding tools are provided for convenience. You are responsible for confirming that a scanned or entered VIN and any decoded vehicle information are correct before relying on them.
Moderation and account actions
We may remove or restrict content, limit access, suspend accounts, or take other reasonable action when needed to enforce these Terms, protect users, maintain service integrity, or comply with legal obligations.
Third-party services and data
FlatRate.wiki may rely on third-party services, forums, authentication providers, vehicle-data sources, or external links. Those services may have their own terms and policies, and FlatRate.wiki is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control.
Service changes and availability
We may change, add, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlatRate.wiki is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, safety, reliability, or fitness of user-submitted content or vehicle information for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FlatRate.wiki and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as FlatRate.wiki evolves. The updated date above will change when we make material revisions. Continued use of the service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
