About

I’m a technician too.

I know what it’s like to get stuck on a problem and realize the best person to help might not even work in your shop. They might work at another dealership, an independent shop across the country, or even halfway around the world.

For most of us, collaboration stops at the walls of our own shop.

That never made sense to me.

I wanted to build a place where dealership technicians, independent technicians, apprentices, master technicians, and everyone in between could compare notes and learn from one another.

With anonymous posting, technicians can share their experience without having to attach their real identity to every question, opinion, or conversation.

A place to ask:

“Has anyone seen this before?”

A place to compare labor times and find out if everyone else is losing money on the same job.

A place to talk honestly about what is happening in this industry. The good, the bad, and the things technicians usually keep to themselves.

That is what I want FLATRATE.WIKI to be.

Technicians helping technicians.

No matter what brand you work on.
No matter if you work at a dealership or an independent shop.
No matter how many years you have been turning wrenches.

We all know something another technician doesn’t.

If we start sharing that knowledge instead of keeping it trapped inside individual shops, I think we can build something the automotive industry has never really had before.

A community built by technicians, for technicians.
